What is Biomedical Engineering (BME)? Biomedical engineering (BME) is the application of engineering principles to solve biological and medical problems for the purpose of improving health care. A Biomedical Engineer develop solution to health problems through the integration of Biology, Medicine and Engineering. They study engineering that interacts with the human body. Biomedical engineers are hands-on problem-solvers whose work connects the fields of engineering and medicine. Types of Biomedical Engineer ■Clinical Engineers (work with medical equipment) ■Genetic E ngineers (deal with the genetic makeup of organisms) ■Biochemical E ngineers (focus on cell structures) ■Biomaterials E ngineers ( experiment with using both natural and lab-made substances in medical devices and implants) Step to Step Guide to Become a Biomedical Engineer •Participate in Extracurricular activities that are of benefits to your career e.g Science Olympiad, Coding club, Robotics club • Apply for a Bac...
